Former Egypt boss Hassan Shehata has been sacked from his post as Al-Arabi coach after only six league games in charge, the Qatari side announced on Wednesday.

The 63-year-old, who took charge of Al-Arabi in October after leaving Egyptian side Zamalek, failed to turn around the fortunes of the Qatari outfit, who are struggling in the domestic league.

Shehata, winner of three  Nations Cup titles with Egypt, failed to lead Al-Arabi to any victory in six league games as they lost four and drew twice.

They are now at the bottom of the Qatari league with only four points.
