Ahly winger Walid Soliman has recovered from an ankle injury in time for Sunday's African Champions League clash against South Africa's Olando Pirates.

"Soliman is ready for the game, scheduled for 4th August. He is currently under a rehabilitation program," Ahly Doctor Khaled Mahmoud told the club's official website Monday.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury during a training session before facing Zamalek in their opening Group A encounter.

Soliman is one of Ahly's key players, thanks to his penetrating runs down the flanks and accurate shots. He is likely to be replaced by attacking midfielder Abdallah El-Said.

Ahly, the record holders of the Champions League with seven titles under their belt, are eyeing a second consecutive triumph while success-starved Zamalek are chasing their first continental title since 2002.

The Group A is deadlocked after the first round, with Zamalek-Ahly (1-1) and Orlando Pirates-Ac Leopards (0-0) ended in stalemate.
