Ahly coach Mohamed Youssef will be guiding the Red Devils against Cameroon’s Coton Sport from the stands when they meet in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi final, the African football governing body announced Saturday.

The decision by the CAF to suspend Youssef came as a result of the rookie coach being sent off during his team's 1-1 draw against Coton in the first leg in Garoua last week.

The title holders, Ahly, are favourites to reach the final for the second consecutive year after holding Coton in the last match.

They are slated to host the Cameroonian team at Gouna Stadium 20 October, but behind closed doors.

"CAF also informed Ahly in an official letter that the match will be played behind closed doors," Ahram Sport revealed.

Fans are currently banned from attending Egyptian football matches due to lingering security concerns.

Seven-time African champions Ahly are eyeing their eighth title in the continental competition as Coton Sports seeks their first African title.
