African Champions League winners Ahly will host Confederation Cup Tunisian title holder Sfaxien in the annual CAF Super Cup in Egypt on 21, 22 or 23 February, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Thursday.
"CAF have sent a formal letter to the Egyptian Football Association informing them by the date of the African Super Cup between Ahly and Sfaxien," read a statement on the EFA website.
The Cairo giants Ahly won the African Champions League title after beating South Africa's Orlando Pirates in the final game in November. Sfaxien also won the Confederation Cup title after beating TP Mazembe Englebert of DR Congo.
"The CAF asked the EFA to choose between 21, 22 and 23 February as a definite date for the anticipated game," the statement added.
"They also recommended playing it on 22 February for organisational reasons." statement concluded.
