Smouha moved two points clear of second-placed Arab Contractors after defeating Ragaa 2-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday.

Striker Samuel Owusu opened the scoring after five minutes  and Hamada Yehya made it 2-0 with eight minutes remaining as the Alexandria-based club continued their superb run.

Smouha are on top of the group with 19 points. They can extend their lead over Contractors to five points if they win their match in hand.

Contactors were held to a 1-1 draw by Dakhleya. Former Ahly and Ismaily striker Mohamed Fadl opened the scoring for Arab Contractors, while Dakhleya's youngster Ahmed Samir restored parity 19 minutes after the restart.

Defending champions Ahly, who slumped to their third defeat this season after losing 1-0 to Gouna on Sunday, dropped to third with 16 points.

The first two teams in each group will advance to the final four-team playoff to determine the champion.
