Zamalek will win the Egyptian league, says coach Mido

The Cairo-based club beat Beni Suef Telephones to move into third place in Group B with 31 points from 18 matches. Petrojet are the leaders with 34 points from 19 matches, two points ahead of Ittihad El-Shorta

Zamalek coach Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' expressed joy after their 2-0 win over Beni Suef Telephones in the 20th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

"I thank Mortada Mansour [the club's chairman], the father [sic] for his support for the team over the past 48 hours," Mido wrote on his Twitter account.

"Zamalek will win the league," he added.

The former striker for Ajax, Tottenham, Wigan and many other European clubs also dedicated the win to his son Hashim who is celebrating his birthday.

The Cairo-based club are now third in Group B table with 31 points from 18 matches. Petrojet are the leaders with 34 points from 19 matches, two points ahead of Ittihad El-Shorta.
