Ittihad of Alexandria are hosting Ahly in the 20th day of the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.
The pair share the Group A lead as both have collected 30 points, three behind leaders Smouha, who played 17 games. The Cairo-based club have two games in hand while the coastal team have one.
Ahly interim coach Fathi Mabrouk, who succeeded former Mohamed Youssef after he resigned last week following a recen losses, called 20 players for a closed training camp before the game.
Mabrouk eliminated Ahmed Shokry and Sabry Rahil from the squad for technical reasons while Shehab Ahmed is also sidelined due to injury.
The coach is seeking his first win with the Red Devils as they were held to a 1-1 draw last game against Smouha.
"The Ittihad game will be challenging especially as they compete to qualify for the mini league." Mabrouk told the club's official website.
