Zamalek have landed a trio of players from Ittihad El-Shorta: Nigerian midfielder Marouf Youssif, Egypt striker Khaled Qamar and defender Ahmed Dwidar.

The deal ended speculation after their arch-rivals Ahly announced their interest in the three players.

Qamar was instrumental in Shorta's superb league campaign this season, finishing second top scorer with ten goals.

Dwidar is currently one of the best defenders in the domestic competition and has reserved a place in the Egypt squad under coach Shawky Gharib, while Nigerian Youssef is one of the best foreign players in the league.

Zamalek, who lead Group B and petroleum club Petrojet, have booked their tickets to the mini-league phase of the extraordinary edition of the Egyptian Premier League. Ahly and the Alexandria-based side Smouha qualified from Group A.
