Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour confirmed that the club is in negotiations with Ismaily and Egypt goalkeeper Mohamed Awad.

"The Ismailia club agreed to sell Awad for four million pounds," Mansour told an Egyptian Radio station Thursday.

The elected president also rubbished recent reports linked former Egypt, Ahly and Zamalek keeper Essam EL-Hadry- who is currently guarding Wadi Degla net- to a return to the White Castle.

"Zamalek have no interest in El-Hadary. We are in serious talks with Awad," Mansour added.

After releasing longtime goalie Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, there were speculations that Zamalek coach Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' rejects El-Hadary return to Zamalek due to an old dispute.

The former 41-year goalie, El-Hadary played an instrumental role at Degla this season in both the domestic league and also the African Confederation Cup, though they were eliminated from the latter in round of 16.

The Cairo giants, Zamalek, are playing the Egypt Cup final on Saturday against Alexandria-based Smouha.
