Zamalek technical staff, under the leadership of manager Ahmed "Mido" Hossam, have handed in their resignations as their contracts expire at the end of the season, according to Ahram Sports.

The Cairo-based club clinched the Egypt Cup trophy after beating Alexandrian Smouha Saturday with a last-gasp goal.

Under the helm of Mido, the former nomadic striker who played for many European clubs, the Whites finished the Egyptian Premier League season in the third place after arch-rivals Ahly and Smouha.

It is expected that the club's board, led by chairman Mortada Mansour, will soon renew confidence in the Mido team ahead of the new season that will kick-off with the Super Cup match against Ahly.

Zamalek is also currently competing in the group stage of the CAF Champions League, hosting DR Congo's TP Mazembe next Sunday.
