Egyptian Football Association (EFA) board member Ahmed Megahed dismissed recent reports suggesting that the Egypt Super Cup match will be held outside the country.
"The Egypt Super Cup between Ahly and Zamalek will be held in Cairo on 20 September," Megahed told an Egyptian radio station Thursday afternoon.
Earlier this month, the Red Devils Ahly claimed their 36th Egyptian Premier League title, winning the mini-league with one goal difference from runner-ups Smouha.
Meanwhile, the White Castle Zamalek clinched their 22nd Cup from Alexandrian side Smouha.
Megahed also revealed that the next Egyptian Premier League season will be held regularly with one group format – but will combine 20 teams.
After canceling two successive league seasons midway due to security troubles, Egypt held its last league in a two-group format behind closed doors.
