Ahly’s front line suffers another blow as striker Mohamed Fadl will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to a calf injury he sustained during training sessions.

“Fadl will undergo medical examinations to determine the seriousness of his injury,” head of Ahly medical staff, Walid Abdel-Baky told Al-Ahram.

Besides Fadl and the injured striker Emad Meteb, Ahly Portuguese coach Manuel Jose will do without promising young midfielder Ahmed Shokry in El-Masry clash on Friday in day 18 of the Egyptian Premier League.

The 21 year-old player, Shokry, suffers from fatigue after his Germany trip, as he was on trial with Bundesliga club, Hoffenheim, where he doesn’t seem to have impressed them.

Hoffenheim reportedly confirmed that while they took Shokry on a two-day trial, they decided not to seek a transfer for the young attacker.

"As far as I know, the player is out of the question for us at the moment," club spokesman Markus Sieger quoted as saying on Goal.com.

Ahly are now third on the Premier League table with 32 points, 7 points behind leaders Zamalek.
