Ahly's international keeper Sherif Ekramy has been cleared to play against Ittihad El-Shorta in the domestic league on Sunday after recovering from a knee injury.
Team doctor Ehab Ali told reporters on Tuesday that scans showed Ekramy had recovered and that he will resume full training.
The 31-year-old goalie has been at the centre of controversy over the past week after skipping Egypt's recent trip to Botswana in the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers due to injury.
However, reports in the media suggested that he withdrew from the squad after learning that Zamalek's keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy is set to take the starting role.
The Pharaohs – who now have three points - revived their hopes in the qualifiers after beating Botswana 2-0 in Gaborone and will play them again on Wednesday hoping to catch up with joint-leaders Senegal and Tunisia who have seven points each.
Ahly lost their opening game in the league against Ragaa and are hoping for a return to form on Saturday.
