The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced Champions League and Confederation Cup draws Monday, setting the road map of the Ahly, Smouha, Zamalek and Petrojet in the CAF competitions.
In the Champions League, Egypt champions Ahly received a bye for the second round and will be waiting for the winner of Liga Maputo from Mozambique and APR of Rwanda.
The record holders of eight Champions League trophies, Ahly were recently crowned champions of the Confederation Cup as its first ever Egyptian winners.
Surprise-package Smouha, who finished runner-up last season, will play Ahly Tripoli in the first round as they make their first ever appearance on the continental stage.
Alongside Ahly, holders ES Setif from Algeria, Coton Sport from Cameroon, AC Leopards from Congo, TP Mazembe from DR Congo and Tunisian duo CS Sfaxien and Esperance were exempt from the preliminary round draw.
First leg matches will take place on 13, 14 and 15 February 2015 with the second legs being played between 27 February and 1 March.
The round of 32 will be played on 13, 14, 15 March with second leg games on 3, 4 and 5 April.
In the Confederation Cup, Zamalek, a five-time African champion will be waiting in the round 32 for the winner among Panthere of Cameroon and Rayon Sports from Rwanda.
The Whites have also been exempted from the preliminary round alongside ASEC from Cote d'Ivoire, Djoliba from Mali, AS Vita Club Congo, Orlando Pirates from South Africa, Ahli Shendi from Sudan and Tunisian sides Club Africain and Etoile du Sahel.
Petrojet, who plays for the third time on the continental stage, will play Sudanese side Ghazala in the preliminary round.
The first legs will be played on 13, 14, 15 February and the return legs on 27, 28 February and 1 March.
The round 32 first legs will be held on 13-15 March while the return legs will be played 3-5 April.
