Ahly key midfield players Hossam Ghaly and Hossam Ashour have been given the green light to take part in the game against Armée Patriotique Rwandaisein (A.P.R) of Rwanda in the CAF Champions League opener on Saturday after recovering from respective injury and sickness.

The eight-time African champions have arrived in Rwanda with a squad of 20-men including Ashour and Ghaly to face A.P.R on 14 March for the first leg of the competition's round of 32.

Skipper Hossam Ghaly returned to training with the team in preparation for the CAF Champions League opener after recovering from a knee injury he sustained during his team's loss to Algeria's ES Setif in the African Super Cup.

"We are working to make use of Ghaly's experience as he can help the team in Rwanda," Ahly general coach Ahmed Ayoub said.

Ashour, who missed the team's training for the game in Cairo as he was suffering from the flu, is now cleared to take part in the game.

"Ashour is still suffering from the reaction of the flu he suffered from but he is fit for Saturday's game," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told reporters on Thursday.

The two key players, Ashour and Ghaly, will boost the Ahly squad when they take on A.P.R of Rwanda on Saturday as the Cairo giants continue their bid for their 9th Champions League title.
