Ahly's Egyptian league clash with Assiouty on Tuesday will not be broadcast on Egyptian television due to financial reasons, club management confirmed.

In September, the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) acquired the rights to broadcast Ahly matches in the Egyptian league for three years.

"Our match with Assiouty won't be broadcasted as Egyptian television owes Ahly LE15 million," Ahly said in a statement in its official website on Tuesday.

"Ahly holds [Egyptian] television responsible for not abiding by the contract and the payment of due money.

"We have contacted them many times in order for them to pay but they didn't even reply," the statement added.

Egyptian league holders Ahly will be eying victory when they host second-from-bottom Assiouty Sport on Tuesday, as they aim to continue their domestic and continental campaigns successfully.

The Reds will visit Morocco’s Moghreb Tetouan in the Champions League last-16 first leg on 19 April.

Ahly, who are in third place on the league table, insist they haven’t given up on winning the title this season despite a 1-1 draw with Ismaily last week that left them eight points behind rivals Zamalek.
