Zamalek's defender Koffi (Al-Ahram)
Zamalek's Burkinabe defender Mohamed Koffi thanked Pharaohs coach Hector Cuper after the Argentine praised his fine performance against Harras El-Hodoud in Egypt Cup, saying he is flattered by Cuper's words.
The White Knights reached Egypt's Cup quarters after defeating Harras El-Hodoud 3-1 on Saturday in a game that saw a great performance from the Burkinabe defender.
Following the game, Cuper told reporters that if Koffi is an Egyptian player his post in Pharaohs' squad would be gauranteed.
"I thank Hector Cuper for his quotes," Koffi said via twitter on Sunday.
"I am very happy to be praised by a great coach like Cuper."
"Cuper's words will encourage me to exert more effort with Zamalek," he added.
The Burkinabe defender who joined Zamalek last summer was instrumental in the Club's triumphant campaign in the Egyptian League, helping them win their first league title since 2004.
