Zamalek’s crisis deepens as both Amr Zaki and Mohamed Aoudia remain on the sidelines against El Masry next Saturday

Zamalek’s Egyptian league title campaign was dealt another blow as news was confirmed that both strikers Amr Zaki and Mohamed Aoudia will not be playing in the next match against El Masry due to injury – on day 26 of the tournament.

“The duo have not yet recovered from their injuries. We will not rush them into training sessions until we are sure they are totally cured,” Zamalek’s doctor Mostafa El Monairy told the club’s official web site.

The shortage of strikers cost Zamalek two precious points in their last game against El-Geish as the whites’ technical staff was obliged to rely on Ivorian striker Abou Kone, who failed to find the net.

In addition to Zaki and Aoudia’s injuries, Ahmed Gaafar is suspended while it turned out that Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ is not officially registered with the team because of administrative error.

Zamalek, the second with 50 points, will be looking only for win when they face the coastal side to keep their title hopes alive after losing the Egyptian league summit to arch rival Ahly (52 points) following their 0-0 draw with El-Geish.

Zamalek will host Ahly next Tuesday at the Cairo derby which all consider to be the season’s title decider, and the return of both strikers will be a great boost for Coach Hossam Hassan.

“We are now working to prepare Zaki and Aoudia for the Cairo derby,” the doctor concluded.
