Ahly coach Fathi Mabrouk has insisted his team is determined to qualify for the Confederation of African Football final.
"The team has enough motivation to make it to the African Cup final," Mabrouk told the club's official website on Tuesday.
The title-holders lost 1-0 away against South Africa's Orlando Pirates on the weekend.
"The defeat is not so hard to handle. We have a good chance to win at home and make it to the finals as we are playing to win the title," the 68-year-old tactician added.
The loss came less than a week after Ahly lost 2-0 to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final, having also finished runners up to their Cairo rivals in the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek are in a harder situation in the continental Cup as they were stunned by a 5-1 away defeat by Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel.
Zamalek's home clash will be held on Saturday, one day before Ahly's game.
