Pharoahs striker Amr Zaki will not make an appearance at Wednesday’s Cairo Derby between arch-rivals Ahly and Zamalek on day 27 of the Egyptian Premier League, after clashing with tactician Hossam Hassan.

The 44-year-old coach has demanded Zaki join the White Castle’s closed camp in 6 October City, but the player refused.

The 28-year-old African Cup of Nations champion confirmed that he is in a physical rehab program and has not fully recovered from an injury. He will not be able to join his teammates in training.

The White Knights, who are gunning for their first title since 2004, are second in the league table with five points separating them from title holders Ahly who are leading the table with 55 points.
