The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Competitions Committee held a meeting on Monday in which they decided to place a match-ban on Zamalek forward Mohamed Ibrahim for the remaining four games of the season. The forward gave the fans the ‘finger’ while being substituted during Masry’s game last Saturday.

The 20-year-old player had been booed and verbally abused by the fans, as his team lost their game 2-0, seeing their title hopes all but lost.

“Mohamed Ibrahim will serve a four-match ban in addition to a LE10000-fine for his actions,” a statement on the EFA website read Monday.

Masry’s next game against Arab Contractors has been moved outside of their home ground to Port Said due to the repetitive abusive chants and attacks on opponent players by Zamalek supporters.

The ban comes as another huge blow for Zamalek’s coach Hossam Hassan ahead of the Ahly match next Wednesday, as his main strikers, Amr Zaki and Ahmed Hossam “Mido,” will also not be available for crucial derby, leaving the manager few options upfront.
