Egypt’s striker Amr Gamal has rubbished all current reports linking him with a move to Zamalek, insisting he has no problem warming the bench at Ahly.

"Zamalek is a big club and it would be a pleasure for me to play for them but people must remember the fact that I’m engaged to Ahly for four years," the player told a sports programme on Egyptian television channel Ten on Wednesday.

Many local reports circulating on social media have been strongly hinting that the 24-year-old is joining the Whites as part of a January transfer. The reports have been completely denied by the player.

Gamal also praised Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro as well as saying he has no problem with the club, especially as the Ahly bench “combines stars.”

"I am sitting on the bench beside big names with Ahly including stars Emad Mete, Malick Evouna and John Antwi. Coach Peseiro is a professional coach and he works so hard, leaving the club at 10 pm. He demanded me to be calm and take care at training to avoid injuries," Gamal explained.

The player also spoke about his place in the Egyptian national team under Argentinean manager Hector Cuper.

"Cuper searches for players who are capable of applying his strategies and I deserve my place in the national team," he concluded.

The Qena-born player has been with Ahly since he started his senior career in 2013.
