Zamalek's coach Hassan Shehata
Zamalek confirmed on Wednesday signing a five-year deal with Said Mohamed “Otta”, a playmaker in a third-division team, without disclosing the financial details.
“We have officially acquired the services of the skilful playmaker Otta who has a great potential,” Zamalek board member Osama Elmlegy was quoted as saying on the club’s official website. The 25-year old is widely regarded as a good replacement for the team stars Mahmoud Abdel-Razek “Shikabala” and Hussein Yasser.
The new head coach of the Egyptian League runner-up, Hassan Shehata, asked the club board to contract seven new players to reconstruct the team to get back on track after another trophy-less season.
The Cairo giants have already signed Maqassa’s striker Hussein Hamdy on a three-year deal for LE3 million ($508,500), Maqassa’s defender Hani Said on a one-season loan deal, Ghanaian defender Karim Alhassan and Masry’s Hani Said.
Zamalek is still to finalise the deal of the Pharaohs star Ahmed Hassan who recently left arch-rival Ahly.
