Zamalek's sacked coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam has lodged a complaint to FIFA against the club's President Mortada Mansour after the latter verbally abused him in public.

"I have lodged a complaint against Mansour to FIFA's ethics committee and to the Egyptian general prosecution," Mido said in a long interview with high-profile TV presenter Amr Adeeb on Orbit Showtime Network OSN late on Monday.

"I will never work with him again. I will be working soon and I am still looking to acquire more experiences to boost my coaching career," he added.

Zamalek dismissed the 33-year-old Mido after the team's 2-0 loss to rivals Ahly in the Egyptian league derby in Alexandria last month.

Since his departure, Mido has been involved in a war of words with Mansour after the rookie coach reacted angrily to being sacked on air following the derby defeat.

The outspoken lawyer Mansour insulted Mido in a public video after his claims about the chairman's use of magic at Zamalek and also interfering in the technical staff's work.

Mido announced that he would react strongly to the insult in Monday's TV show with Adeeb, where he said he would take legal actions against Mansour.

Mido started his coaching career with his boyhood club Zamalek in 2014, and then coached the Suez Canal-based side Ismaily at the beginning of this season, before returning to Zamalek for a second stint.

The former Ajax, AS Roma and Tottenham striker was named as Zamalek's coach again in December, replacing Brazilian coach Marcos Paqueta who was shown the door after some poor results.

Although Zamalek won their first four matches under Mido, they were criticised for lackluster displays.

Mido, who led Zamalek to the Egypt Cup title in 2014 but lost the league to rivals Ahly in his first spell in charge, was subject to further criticism following a 1-1 draw with Smouha, which was followed by a 1-0 defeat by Ismaily directly before the loss to Ahly.
