Ahly Dutch manager Martin Jol has expressed satisfaction over his squad's performance during Saturday's match against Angolan champions Recreativo de Libolo, despite finishing the first leg of the CAF Champions League Round 32 with a goalless draw.

"The team played a good game and had real chances, especially in the first half, but was unlucky and wasted all of it," Jol was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game.

The record-holding eight-time CAF Champions League winners Ahly dominated their foes during the first half, but lost the advantage after the break when Recreativo came back strong to threaten Ahly's defence.

"The result is satisfying if we consider it was in an away game, but unsatisfying considering all the missed opportunities. The players were really fatigued, this was clear, and we will work on it ahead of the upcoming games," the 60-year-old added.

"The second leg will be very tough and needs focus and good preparation if Ahly want to clinch the African title," the former Tottenham tactician stated.

The second leg is scheduled for 19 March in Cairo.

Ahly are representing Egypt in the African Champions League this season alongside league winners Zamalek after placing second in the Egyptian Premier League last season.
