Zamalek star Mahmoud Abdel-Razek "Shikabala" has confirmed that he will not press the club management to let him join English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Shikabala’s agent claimed recently that the London-based club is interested in signing his client during the current transfer window, but Zamalek denied receiving any offer for the talented schemer.
“I am committed to my new contract with the club that runs until 2014,” the pharaohs star told the club official website.
“I will respect the decision of Zamalek’s management whether they accept or reject the Tottenham offer,” the 25-year-old player added.
Shikabala was involved in a dispute with the club’s management after activating the previous four-year contract he signed last year with the former board, but now the matter is settled after mediation with the new coach Hassan Shehata.
Zamalek’s new technical staff announced that they are not willing to let the player go, who was a key member of Zamalek’s squad last season as the Cairo giants finished runners up to their arch rivals, Ahly.
