Egyptian club Ahly anounced Tuesday that it will honor two Roma stars, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah and Italian forward Francesco Totti, during their friendly game 20 May in UAE.
"Salah and Totti will be honored during the friendly ceremony against Roma in UAE," Ahly's Football Sector Manager Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafi said of the game during a press conference held Tuesday in the club's headquarters.
Abdel-Shafi confirmed that at least seven international players from Ahly will play the game.
The friendly rules don't include a draw as the two sides agreed to play a penalty shutout in case the first 90 minutes of play end in a draw.
Both sides met in a summer friendly game in 2002 in Cairo, with Ahly claiming a 2-1 victory over the Italian side boasting the likes of former Argentina great Gabriel Batistuta and Italian striker Vincenzo Montella, who scored a penalty.
However, the Giallorossi had the upper hand in another match in Cairo in 2008, defeating Ahly 3-0 courtesy of goals from Mauro Esposito, Matteo Brighi and David Pizarro.
Egypt's Mohamed Salah has been one of Roma's top performers since joining the team last summer. The team is currently battling for a UEFA Champions League spot next season.
Ahly currently lead the Egyptian domestic league table with 56 points after 24 matches, 11 points clear of defending champions and league rivals Zamalek.
Roma stand at third in Italy's Serie A table with 74 points after 36 matches, 14 points behind defending champions Juventus.
