Ismaily midfielder Abdullah El-Saied is expected to join Ahly for LE6.5 million after archrivals Zamalek failed to agree financial terms with the player.

Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim cancelled a planned trip to Ismailia.

“It’s obvious the player doesn’t want to join Zamalek so we ended talks,” Ibrahim told Ahram Online.

The player’s agent Tamer El-Nahas is to meet Ismaily official Mohamed Shiha to finalise the player’s and the club’s demands.

El-Saied, 26, started his career with Ismaily and played for Egypt in the 2005 World Youth Championship. He joined the Pharaohs squad when they were coached by current Zamalek manager Hassan Shehata.

Ahly offered Ismaily Algerian striker Amir Sayoud to sweeten the deal but the player announced his objections, affirming that African and European teams are chasing him.
