Ahly defender Ahmed Hegazy will miss his side’s Tuesday El-Entag El-Harby clash in the 29th match day of the Egyptian Premier league because of a hamstring muscle injury, the club announced on Monday.

"Hegazy is suffering from a muscle injury he sustained during the 4-0 win over Aswan last week," read a statement on the club's official website.

The Red Devil’s first choice defender underwent medical investigations after being substituted in the 57th minute during the Aswan game after sustaining the injury.

"Hegazy failed to pass Monday's medical tests and he didn't join trainings as the team's doctor preferred to rest him for the El-Entag El-Harby game," the statement added.

Ahly are leading the Egyptian Premier League table with 62 points, eight points ahead of rivals and second place Zamalek.
