Ahly coach Martin Jol was angry when two Arab Contractors players were sent off during the Red Devils' 3-0 win, with Contractors forced to play nearly 70 minutes with eight outfielders.
"It's difficult to evaluate players' performance because of the game's circumstances since the 25th minute," Jol told the post-game press conference.
"In the first 25 minutes of the game we dominated Arab Contractors and we were to close score," he said.
The Cairo giants, Ahly claimed a 3-0 away victory over Arab Contractors in a dramatic Egyptian League fixture that saw the game almost called off after the hosts went down to nine men before reaching a point where they were playing with only seven on the pitch.
"Playing against nine players couldn't represent our real performance so I was angry for the two players' sending off," the Dutch coach said.
"We proved that we are a strong team as our nets received only eight goals in 14 games, but we didn't get any appreciation for that achievement," he added.
A 21st-minute goal by Malick Evouna sparked outrage from Contractors, who subsequently had two players — striker Ahmed Ali and full-back Ahmed 'Mody' — sent off in quick succession for dissent.
"We don't need to score more goals after the players' were sent off; that's my mentality as well as the team's character," Jol said.
Ahly remain top with 68 points after restoring their eight-point lead over second-placed Zamalek with four matches remaining.
