Ramzi Saleh joins Zamalek
Thirty-year old keeper Ramzi Saleh had a meeting with the Zamalek club officials Saturday and reached an agreement to join the club from January. The deal is set to be stamped within days.
Saleh was the starting keeper at Sudanese giants Al-Merreikh but was expected to be relegated to the bench after the signing of Essam El-Hadary, three times winner of the best keeper award in the African Cup of Nations, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
It won’t be easier at Zamalek as international keeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, 32, has been the Whites’ first choice for more than a decade.
The Palestinian shot-stopper had a previous spell in Egypt when he spent a year with Cairo giants Ahly before being offloaded in January 2010.
