Key Ahly defender Ahmed Hegazy will be fit for the coming game against Zesco of Zambia in the first round of the CAF Champions League's group stage next week, after recovering from a hamstring injury, according to the club's doctor Khaled Mahmoud.

Last week, Hegazy missed Ahly's game against Dakhleya and sat out the Egypt national team's game against Tanzania in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. He has been out of action for a month due to the injury.

"Hegazy will join Tuesday's training sessions after recovering from a hamstring injury," the Ahly's doctor told reporters on Monday.

"He is fully recovered from the injury and he will travel with team to Zambia to play Zesco game,"he added.

The Cairo giants will start their CAF Champions League group stage campaign when they face Zesco at Zambia in the first round of the Group A games on 18 June.

Ahly have been drawn in Group A of the CAF Champions League along with Zesco, ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast), Wydad Athletic (Morocco).
