Egyptian giants Zamalek have called off singing Palestinian keeper Ramzi Saleh, as the sides could not reach an agreement on the financial details.
“He thought he was a free agent, which he is not, and, additionally, he wanted an exaggerated salary, and so we canceled the deal,” Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim told the local media on Tuesday.
The White Knights were seeking a replacement keeper after Essam El-Hadary left to play with Sudanese side Al-Merreikh.
Saleh, who plays for Al-Merreikh, inked a two-and-half-year contract with the Whites last Saturday.
Zamalek will be now on the market again for a keeper, to back up their number one choice Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed.
