Egypt Cup winners ENNPI have been dealt a blow with the news their defender Abdel-Zaher El-Sakka will be out of action for at least six months.
Medical scans have revealed the former Egypt stopper needs urgent surgery after sustaining a cruciate-ligament injury in his right knee during his side’s the 2-1 win over Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final on Tuesday.
“I may consider retiring if I’ve a torn cruciate ligament,” the 37-year old was quoted as saying by Egyptian media after the match.
News of the player’s injury may affect the celebrations of the team that last won the Egypt Cup in 2005.
