Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has given the green light to teenager Ahmed Hamdi to join Portugal outfit Sporting de Braga on loan, the club announced on Monday.

"I agreed on Ahmed Hamdi's leave to Braga on loan as the team's management will negotiate on the financial details," El-Badry was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"I want to allow the youngster to have more experience and to come back to Ahly again after his loan deal is finished," he added.

The 18-year-old Hamdi made his first team debut with Egyptian Champions Ahly last season under Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro who is currently the head coach of Braga.

Braga ended last season’s Portuguese league in fourth place. They currently lie second at the competition’s table with 10 points, two behind leaders Sporting CP after four matches.
