Best players
Hossam Ghaly; Minusu Buba and Amr Zaki

Goalkeeper: Mohamed Abdel-Monsef (Gouna) made some superb saves to deny Ismaily on several occasions. He brilliantly blocked a goal-bound shot from Ismaily striker Ahmed Ali early in the second half.

Right back: Ahmed Adel (Gouna) wreaked havoc down the right flank, exposing Ismaily’s defensive gaps and whipping in numerous crosses.

Central defender: Ahmed Doweidar (Ittihad El-Shorta) played a key role in keeping Smouha strikers at bay as his side claimed a 2-0 win.

Central defender: El-Sayed Farid (Ittihad of Alexandria) was instrumental in helping his side cause an upset and crush Egypt Cup winners ENPPI 3-0.

Left back: Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Zamalek) was as lively as ever, winning a second-half penalty and setting up substitute Hussein Hamdy for Zamalek’s sixth goal in the 6-1 drubbing of promoted Ghazl El-Mahalla.

Midfielder: Hossam Ghaly (Ahly) orchestrated the Red Devils’ attacks in the 2-2 draw with Petrojet from deep with trademark precise passes.   

Midfielder: Mahmoud Samir (Ittihad of Alexandria) created two goals as his side romped to a 3-0 win over ENPPI.

Midfielder: Shikabala (Zamalek) created three goals for Mahmoud Fathallah, Ahmed Hassan and Amr Zaki to give the Cairo giants a comprehensive victory over El-Mahalla.

Forward: Amr Zaki (Zamalek) netted twice, albeit in controversial fashion, to maintain his free-scoring run.

Forward: Minusu Buba (Gouna) notched a brace in the 4-1 win over Ismaily to take his tally to four goals in two league games.

Forward: Khaled Qamar (Ittihad El-Shorta) scored the opening goal in his side’s 2-0 win over Smouha and was a constant threat throughout.
