Belgium club Lierse have agreed to a move for their Egyptian midfielder Amr Barakat to his boyhood club Ahly, their official website announced on Tuesday.

"Lierse wish Amr all success in his new club," the Belgian side stated.

The 25-year-old player joined the Belgium second division club in summer before sustaining an injury that sidelined him for months.

Barakat was a youngster in Ahly for five years before moving to Zamalek and then Maqassa. He was one of last season's stars of the Egyptian Premier League which was why he was snatched by Lierse.

No financial details about the deal have been announced.

Ahly currently lead the Egyptian Premiere League table with 45 points after 17 matches.
