Zamalek's rescheduled Egyptian league clash with Talae El-Geish has been postponed indefinitely in the wake of Friday's 1-0 defeat to Maqassa that was marred by refereeing controversy.

The Whites were supposed to play their last of rescheduled games against Geish on Tuesday, but an ill-fated decision from ref Gehad Greisha, which denied Zamalek a legitimate second-half penalty while 1-0 down, seemed to have influenced the FA's recent decision.

In what seemed to be a clear penalty, where Maqassa defender Ahmed Sami blatantly extended his arm inside the area to keep the ball away from Zamalek forward Stanley Ohawuchi's head, Greisha curiously refrained from pointing to the spot.

The decision prompted angry reaction from the Zamalek squad, as they later walked off the pitch in stoppage time in what seemed to be an apparent attempt to withdraw from the game.

Zamalek eventually resumed play after the match had been halted for four minutes, with the match ending a Maqassa victory that severely denting the Cairo giants' league title hopes.

It remains to be seen when will the game against Geish be played, as Zamalek open their CAF Champions League campaign against Nigeria's Enugu Rangers at home on Friday.
