Wadi Degla have officially rejected an offer from Spanish side Real Mallorca to sign their Senegalese midfielder Ibrahima Ndiaye in the summer, the Egyptian club announced Saturday.

"Mallorca's offer to sign Ndiaye was rejected as it wasn't appropriate to the player's recent performances that made him a key element in the Senegalese youth national team," read an official statement issued by Wadi Degla.

The 18-year-old Ndiaye joined the Egyptian club last summer from Senegalese side ASC Diaraf. He has scored two goals in the Egyptian Premier League so far.

Degla, guided by Egypt's former star Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam, currently lie in 11th place of the Egyptian Premier League table with 25 points, 27 behind leaders Ahly.

Mallorca is struggling in the Spanish league's second division, coming 20th in the competition's table with 29 points, 33 behind leaders Levante.
