Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic officially signed a two-year contract with Zamalek at the club's headquarters on Monday, the Whites' management announced.

"After holding a meeting with the club's board member Ahmed Mortada Mansour, Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic signed a two-year-contract," read a statement from the club's chairman on the official website on Monday.

"We will hold a meeting with Nebojsa on Monday to announce the deal's details," the statement added.

Jovovic caught the attention of Zamalek when he helped Jordan's Faisaly to reach the Arab Championship final earlier this month, with a remarkable campaign that saw his side defeat Egypt's famed club Ahly twice.

Zamalek have limited time to find a replacement for sacked coach Augusto Inacio, with the Egyptian Premier League scheduled to kick off early next month.

Zamalek have had 15 coaches since the election of President Mansour in 2014, including Mido, Hossam Hassan, Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira and Scotsman Alex McLeish.
