Egyptian Premier League title holders Ahly are targeting a win over humble Tanta on Friday, the 13th matchday of the tournament, to recover from a recent defeat by Maqassa, their first loss in 46 games.

Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has confirmed that the team has no option but to win all games in attempt to win their 40th league title.

The Cairo-based club, who are second in the group table with 25 points, two less than Ismaily, ended their training on Thursday ahead of their trip to the Delta city of Mahalla where the match will be held.

El-Badry will do without their first-choice defenders Saad Samir and Rami Rabia while key midfielder Hossam Ashour is still out due to a thigh injury.

Samir has been also excluded due to a knee injury he is rehabilitated from while Rabia is under rehabilitation alongside with goalkeeper Mohamed El- Shenawy, left-winger Ali Maloul, and midfielder Akram Tawfik.

"The quartet are undergoing a rehabilitation programme to prepare them for the upcoming matches," the club's official website announced Thursday.
Ahly striker Emad Meteb has missed the squad despite recovering from a stomach trouble.

Tanta, who were promoted to the top flight competition this season, are facing a relegation battle, lying in 15th place with only 12 points from 12 games.
