Zamalek's Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic has praised his team's performance after their 1-0 win over Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League 15th round on Tuesday.

"Zamalek dominated the field and was in control during the whole game," Jovovic said after the victory in Cairo.

A powerful shot from winger Mohamed El-Shami gave Zamalek a 1-0 home win over the 10-man Arab Contractors team, reviving their hopes of challenging for the Egyptian Premier League.

"The team wasted many chances before El-Shami's goal, but the performance was very good," he said.

El-Shami let fly from 25 yards eight minutes before the break, scoring what proved to be the winner for an improving Zamalek side that recorded its second consecutive win after beating Ittihad of Alexandria 2-0 last week.

"Arab Contractors is a good and respectful team, but we were totallycontrolling the game there, threading their net," he added.

The Montenegrin was recently given a vote of confidence from Zamalek's normally outspoken chairman Mortada Mansour and he is eager to keep his team in the title race.

Zamalek moved into fourth place in the table with 25 points from 14 games, nine behind leaders Ismaily who played one match more.

Defending champions Ahly are second on 30 points but they still have two matches in hand. If they win their rescheduled games, they will move top, although their recent disappointing run, which saw them register only one win in four matches, leaves the door open for Ismaily and Zamalek to mount a serious challenge.
