Ahly have sealed their first winter transfer signing after announcing Tuesday the signing of Ghazl El-Mahalla and National youth team striker Mohamed Fakhry.
"Fakhry has officially joined Ahly in a deal worth EGP 1.8 million," Ahly marketing director Adly El-Qayei was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
The 19-year-old player has reportedly signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.
Ghazl El-Mahalla plays in the Egyptian league's second division.
During the current winter transfer window, Ahly have sent out three players on loan; strikers Emad Meteb and Ahmed El-Sheikh and playmaker Momen Zakaria all joined different clubs in the Saudi league.
The Cairo giants Ahly currently lie second on the league table with 39 points, two behind leaders Ismaily, who have played two more matches.
On Friday, league champions Ahly defeated rivals Masry 1-0 to clinch their 10th Super Cup title.
