Zamalek's new coach Ehab Galal has expressed his pleasure at the 2-1 victory over Dakhleya in the Egyptian Premier League, his first win in three matches.

"I thank all Zamalek players for their performance as well as achieving the victory," Galal was quoted as saying by Ahram Sports after the game.

"I also want to thank Zamalek chairman for taking the decision to appoint me as the team's new coach,"

"I am working to win all the remaining games."

Zamalek revived their hopes of earning an African Champions League spot as they moved to third with 32 points, nine behind Ismaily who slumped to a 2-0 defeat by Arab Contractors on Wednesday.

With Zamalek almost losing hopes of catching Ahly at the top, their only Champions League hope lies in finishing second.
