Maqassa did not enjoy the best of CAF Champions League debuts after slumping to a 2-0 round of 64 first-leg defeat at Senegal's Generation Foot on Saturday.

Kicking off their maiden African campaign, Maqassa were downed by two second-half goals from Amadou Dia Ndai and Sheikh Tidane Sabali on 55 and 75 minutes ahead of the return leg.

The Fayoum-based side are currently suffering a dip in form, with the last season's runners-up uncharacteristically lying in 13th position of the Egyptian league table.

Maqassa host the Senegalese champions in 10 days' time for the return leg.
