The Egyptian football association (EFA) announced on Monday that the controversial clash between champions Ahly and Ismaily in the Egyptian League will be played on 26 December in Cairo Stadium and behind closed doors.
"The Egyptian football association decided to set December 26 as a new date for Ahly-Ismaily clash behind closed doors,’’ read a statement on the EFA official website.
The game was initially scheduled for Tuesday, 13December, but was postponed Sunday for security reasons.
Ahly are obliged to play the game in front of an empty stadium as sanction for their fans' continued use of fireworks during league matches.
The Ultras Ahlawy previously declared their insistence on attending the clash with Ismaily despite the EFA’s ruling.
