Egyptian Champions Ahly are studying an offer to play two friendlies with European giants, Germany’s Bayern Munich and Spain’s Real Madrid.
“Bayern’s match is offered to be held in Qatar this January while Real’s would be hosted in Cairo,” Ahly’s Football Committee executive manager Hady Khashaba was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
Established in 1907, Ahly is one of the most powerful teams in the continent holding a series of trophies: six African Champions League titles, four African Confederation Cups and four African Super Cups, beside 36 Egyptian Premier League titles, 35 Egypt Cups and six Egypt Super Cups.
“Football Committee members will make their final decision during their next meeting,” Khashaba revealed.
Under the helm of the current coach, Portuguese Manuel Jose, Ahly met Real Madrid in 2001 beating them 1-0 at Cairo Stadium.
