Harras El-Hodoud defeated Ittihad El-Shorta 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohamad El-Shaarawi and Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek to preserve their perfect home record and four-point lead at the top of the Egyptian Premier League.
The goals came in for the military team in the 53th and 67th minutes.
On the same night, Maqassa maintained their good form in the league with a tough 0-0 draw against Ismaily at Ismailiya Stadium.
Tarek Yehya’s men climbed to second place with 15 points - four behind El-Hodoud- a boost ahead of their meeting with Ahly on Thursday.
In the last match of the week, ENPPI were held to a 3-3 draw by Wadi Degla as they struggle in the league after winning the Egypt Cup.
Striker Ahmed Raouf rescued the Petroleum club with an equalizer after 82 minutes.
ENNPI lie 15th in the league table with only five points while Degla climbed to 10th with ten points.
