Despite having already secured a third successive Egyptian Premier League title, Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has expressed dissatisfaction over his team's goalless draw against Smouha at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium on Sunday in match-day 31 of the competition.
"I was keen to win the three points but this didn't happen, so I am upset," the 56-year-tacticain told the club's official website after the game.
Ahly secured victory in this season's competition several matches ago, gaining their 40th League win by racking up 79 points from 30 games, 19 more than their closest rivals Ismaily.
"The players delivered a good performance but they lacked motivation. Despite all the opportunities we had, they didn't make the correct final touches," he explained.
Ahly's next game will be in the Egypt Cup on Friday when they meet humble Daqahliya.
Ahly will continue their African Champions League bid against Esperance on 4 May after an easy win against Gabon's CF Mounana.
