Hossam El-Badry kicked off his reign as ENPPI coach with a 2-0 victory over El-Entag El-Harby in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday.
Midfielder Amr El-Halawany opened the scoring after 24 minutes when he caught out El-Entag’s advancing keeper with a long-range drive.
He sealed the victory ten minutes later when his left-foot shot from the edge of the area struck both posts before going in as former Ahly coach El-Badry, who took over at the club following the sacking of Mokhtar Mokhtar, enjoyed a winning start.
Egypt Cup winners ENPPI, who snapped a six-match winless run, moved into 13th spot in the 19-team table with nine points.
Elsewhere, Smouha claimed their first victory under Egypt’s former assistant coach Shawky Gharib after defeating Dakhleya 2-0, thanks to goals from Hany El-Egeizy and Ghana’s Samuel Affum.
Ittihad El-Shorta continued their remarkable start to the season with a 1-0 victory over Ittihad of Alexandria to move second on 21 points, four behind surprise leaders Harras El-Hodoud.
